JOB DESCRIPTION

The Associate, Finance & Compliance at TwinFocus, will be the first of multiple hires to work under our newly appointed Managing Director of Finance & Compliance. This is a critical hire for the firm and the successful candidate will be working directly with the Managing Director to further develop and build out the Firm’s finance and compliance departments.

While this position will primarily be involved in finance and accounting functions, it will also support the Firm’s regulatory compliance efforts. Day to day responsibilities will vary but will involve general oversight and first-line responsibility for the Firm and its related entities’ accounting records including as well as ongoing management of the accounts receivable and accounts payable functions. It will involve analysis of financial results, facilitation of cash management and support of tax return preparation across all entities.  This role will also provide ongoing operational and compliance support at the direction of the Managing Director, getting involved in tasks such as counterparty management and regulatory reporting.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS

  • First review of detailed general ledger, transaction reporting
  • Management of the accounts receivable and accounts payable functions in conjunction with external service provider
  • Cash management including monitoring balances and facilitating wires
  • Analysis of financial results
  • Building internal support of all key financial statement items
  • First review of NAV packages as received by third party administrator
  • Support counterparty management: facilitate requests as needed from brokers, bankers, etc.
  • Facilitate tax compliance by compiling information necessary for preparation of returns by outside tax accountant
  • Support the regulatory compliance function as directed
  • Involvement in Ad Hoc projects as directed

REQUIREMENTS

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting with a minimum of 3 year of relevant working experience.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of demonstrated accounting proficiency with emphasis on general ledger maintenance, as well as accounts receivable and accounts payable. Experience preparing financial statements and partnership tax return preparation would be helpful although not required. Audit experience considered a plus.
  • Other: On a smaller scale, this role will also support the compliance function from a regulatory reporting standpoint. Experience in support of preparing SEC regulatory filings would be a plus, although not required.

  • Flexibility to adapt in a rapidly changing business environment
