About my work and my life

Get to know Brooks.

What unique personal skills make you great at your role at TwinFocus?

I am driven and goal oriented, which makes this job a great fit! I love digging into the details of a problem. My attention to detail and persistence makes me an invaluable addition to the estate and tax planning teams, which have long-term horizons and require precision at every step.

If you were not working at TwinFocus and you knew you couldn’t fail at whatever you did, what would you do?

I’d likely be rock climbing in Yosemite or big-wall climbing somewhere else. The possibility of failure, however, is what gives life its luster. If you knew you couldn’t fail at something, it’s likely no longer worth doing.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

When off the job, I spend most of my time hiking with and training my dog, Guinness. He’s hoping to become a therapy dog very soon to visit patients at the Boston Children’s Hospital. Wish him luck!

What personal accomplishments are you most proud of?

Of all my accomplishments, I’m proudest of achieving professional working fluency in Swahili and completing a 2,200-mile thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail in 136 days.
