My strengths and interests

Get to know Kyle.

If you were not working at TwinFocus and you knew you couldn’t fail at whatever you did, what would you do?

I’d love to work in the front office at an MLB or NFL team, and I think there’s a lot of overlap between that business and our research. You’re finding people more skilled than you, evaluating their ability to keep doing that work, and figuring out a way to make those skills work within the constraints of your organization. Then you let them get to work and hope you made the right call.
Steelers season tickets would be a nice bonus, too.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

At the risk of sounding like I am already retired, when my wife and I bought our house, I finally got the space for a workshop, and have spent a lot of time building or fixing old furniture and have come to love woodworking. I also love being outside, whether it’s playing volleyball, or taking our dog for walks across the city, so when the Boston weather cooperates, that’s my priority.

What unique personal skills make you great at your role at TwinFocus?

In each step through my career, I’ve been tasked with taking the complicated, simplifying it, and communicating it to colleagues and clients. I’m not sure that is entirely unique, but I do believe it is incredibly valuable when working with successful investment managers who have complex solutions to asset management.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

Every day we are able to meet new managers and see new investments that are unlike others we’ve seen before. Investment research is something that I believe can never be “solved” which allows me to always be learning, and our team to always be growing into new fields.
